Hello my name is Vid The year is 3096 Do a full systems scan Before I lay me down to bed I would hate for harm To fall on those Embarking on this trip Across the cosmos in the ship My cargo precious as it gets my daughter Olivere She is just and adolescent But she’s quite the engineer Her mother Tallahassee A sexy little lassie With a hair trigger temper Interplanetary pirate She’s a space a buccaneer She womans the weapons Phasers set on dare you suckers Try to harm a hair On anybody up in here A buck and tear you hull up pieces flying everywhere But I do my best to calm her Healthcare’s my career I’d rather healing over killing Besides it interferes With the errand for which We have been conscripted So I stick to the script Written to precision But not written at all For fear of its interception I must consider the full Magnitude of the mission we’re on We must deliver this medicine It’s imperative we get in The hands of the clerics in The Temple of the Oasis in The Wastelands of Paris On a planet that’s perishing Yeah you guessed it it’s Earth Prime Humankind Spread across the galaxy And we just left a mess of it I was born on Earth 7 Some insist that we settled it I would say that we wrestled it From a race of intelligence Well before Thomas Edison’s Luminescent invention our Legacy has been peppered with Technological negligence Moving to advance with no thoughts Of any repercussions in the plans Oh lord I need sleep… Too easy. To stay awake So much on my mind I just can’t recline We been traveling for three weeks The planet’s just a day away

Verse 1: Real thoughts That's what I’m giving to the fans You recite ‘4 times’ But do you really understand Getting my suit cut In a suped up Villa in Milan With high ceilings Resembling where villains make they plans But baby feel no fear There’s only heroes here There are no zeroes near It’s just us two Place your face by my chest to Listen to my heart And I can be the bass to your treble Listen to my art Erase all your troubles Paint a picture of your wants Across the space of your mental Humans create You can’t escape what you’re meant to Do Which is do. Which is do. Witches do! Whip and brew Poison A much different stew Than the food I’m giving you When I mix something in the stu- Dio. You know You don’t? You should Now that you know We good Chorus: Everybody show them Everybody show them If you feeling good Let everybody know it And screeeeeeeeeeam “Yeeeeeeaaah!” Verse 2: When I be on it I’m not inside of my normal noggin I feel somehow dat When I be rocking I’m on a rocket Record my phonics inside of logic So y’all can knock it A lot of logic in every lyric I’m on my Spock tip If y’all are listening I’ll be watching I’m on my spy tip So of course I’m hot as stars And cold as comets Plan on giving me negativity Hold your comments Stay on your own assignment I ask a code of silence For those with close alignment I thank my lucky stars that I got #Verbalists out there That go to concerts And buy my latest albums The moment that I drop it And get my video views up To a hundred thousand I really want a million I really want a building I really want a mountain Ya know not really much Just some good food A little Cali Kush For my vanilla Dutch Yup I had enough of swisher sweets I miss my ninjas in the east Who making a killing on the street The cost of living isn’t cheap I make my living off these beats And how I’m filling up these seats I will not chill til I’m deceased So if you feeling it then please

about

WiNGS is an album that practically sprang into existence.

While some of it was recorded at Secret Studios II during a summer visit to New York City, the majority of the vocal production on WiNGS was improvised on the spot by SCRiBE himself. Utilizing a ragtag assortment of strange and often unconventional recording devices, SCRiBE captured lightning in a bottle again and again — never letting a single moment of inspiration slip by undocumented.

SCRiBE had a vision. Rather than recreating the songs in a controlled studio environment, he would release his new compositions with their raw, original performances completely intact.

Next, SCRiBE turned to his friend and longtime East Coast collaborator Ford4D with a prime directive: create mixes that appear rough, gritty, and textural yet at the same time sound polished, refined, and crystal clear.

While the technical limitations of the source material presented challenges that many engineers would have deemed futile, the creative freedom SCRiBE gave him inspired Ford to perform herculean feats of production prowess. Utilizing almost every trick in his toolkit, Ford was able to re-engineer and re-mix songs that had no original sessions files (or even a cappellas) to speak of. He's been in rare form lately.

The level of care, detail, and craft that went into every song on WiNGS speaks volumes about the entire team behind it. The beatsmiths on this project are a mixture of the old and the new. Manny Sachem, Gradis Nice, and StatZ are producers that longtime SCRiBE fans are already familiar with. Meanwhile, the lion's share of the production came from newcomers GOODMAN, Ezhen Nikko, Sendai Mike, Jay of VSEnt., bugseed, Azael Beats, and Chief Buddha.

SCRiBE is a consummate writer of rhymes, well-known by heads for the strength of his pen game. With that said, he is perhaps most widely recognized throughout The Five Boroughs for his mastery of the art of improvised freestyles. The two abilities are blended seamlessly throughout WiNGS.

NYC residents still swap stories about the Bronx native, even years after his departure to the West Coast. Through daily impromptu street shows, organized events like The Traveling Wild Show, and his long-running OPEN MiC showcase at the legendary Yippie! Museum Café, SCRiBE inspired countless emcees and fellow musicians while simultaneously building them a platform to express and share their own creativity and passions.

WiNGS is the musical consummation of a new chapter in the life of SCRiBE The Verbalist.
